Describing my typeface to three different parties:

This typeface breaks out of rigidity of traditional Korean typefaces. The traditional Korean typeface confines a combination of characters forming a syllable in a square box and places each syllable in a straight line. This typeface borrows a basic way of arranging letters in English by using a baseline, with characters occupying a space over and under the baseline. This typeface  brings visual rhythm and ovrecomes the rigidity of traditional Korean fonts. This is also a san-serif neutral typeface, like Helvatica and Univers in English type, so that designers in Korea can use this broadly in their various designs.

Korean Designers

This typeface is designed specifically for designers in Korea. It is a san-serif font with simple modern appearance so that it can be used broadly in a wide range of designs. To achieve its main purpose, its overall look is neutral, yet it is carefully designed to bring aesthetics of Korean characters by emphasizing their geometric shapes and focusing on their proportions. I also overcome the square box format in designing the typeface in order to bring visual rhythm into the text so that the typeface is visually pleasing in both a big size and a small size.

Korean General Public

This typeface is focused on simplicity and readability. You may not find this typeface as experimental or exciting as any other typefaces that you have seen, at your first sight. However, it focuses on primary aspect of typography, which is readability, and accentuates unique appearance of Korean characters that are simple and geometric. You can use this broadly from formal document to personal blog since this typeface is able to encompass both formal and casual writings.
